Dr. Ahmed Abou El Fettouh

Dr. Ahmed Abou El Fettouh graduated from Cairo University in 1994, and continued his postgraduate studies at Tufts University, Boston, USA; where he received a Master Degree in Periodontics and Implant Therapy in 2003. In furthering his studies, he earned a degree as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 2004. Twenty years ago, he began building his own private practice, which specializes in Periodontics & Implant therapy, with an interdisciplinary approach. His clinical and educational experiences provided him with the foundations that have allowed him to develop several techniques for Soft Tissue management around natural teeth and implants.

Dr. Fettouh’s teaching career began in 2004, where he taught in the postgraduate periodontology department at Tufts University. From that year forward, he found his passion in teaching and education, as the channel for critical thinking and development in the periodontics and implant therapy. In returning to Egypt in 2004, Dr. Fettouh, became inspired by the ability to spread his knowledge and build a medium to share his expertise. Initially, Dr. Fettouh began teaching short-term courses, however, was met with the realization that students were not able to witness the challenges that occur during long-term follow ups. Due to this, in 2012 Dr. Fettouh was the first Professor in Egypt to establish a private long-term implant program, with the International Dental Continuing Education (IDCE) institute. During the foundation of his program, Dr. Fettouh became devoted to standardizing the institute to be an internationally recognized facility, and acquired the American Dental Association (ADA) recognition, which accredits Dr. Fettouh as an international Continuing Education provider. In addition to the IDCE program, he is also the Director and curriculum founder of the International Implantology Program at Misr International University (MIU) in Egypt, one of the best prestigious and educational universities in the Middle East

Dr. Fettouh has established, and continues to expand on, a unique teaching process, which functions on his documentation of every therapeutic step, surgical or non-surgical, as well as long-term follow ups of his cases. In the past twenty years, Dr. Fettouh has witnessed the way in which documentation is the key to achieving success, a simple delivery of information, and productivity in his educational methods. Today, more than two hundred students have graduated from the long-term programs established by Dr. Fettouh. In 2018, in order for Dr. Fettouh to validate his novel approaches and techniques, he built a clinically oriented research sector, which aims to help clinicians in taking the proper decision in their therapeutic approaches. As of now, Dr. Fettouh has published research papers with various international journals, and is in the process of developing more than fifteen additional clinical papers in the field of Periodontics & Implant therapy.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fettouh was dedicated to building a team to guarantee the currentsuccess and future progression of his Continuing Education methods, in both clinical andresearch endeavors. Today, Dr. Fettouh has assembled five different education teams, clinicalteam, diagnostic & screening team, surgical team, restorative team in addition to the researchteam. In 2023, Dr. Fettouh started to equalize his American Board of Periodontologycertification in the Ministry of Higher Education and Related Research in Egypt and earned hisPhD degree in periodontology in 2024.
